We needed a fill-up
California: Part One
Ah. California. The land of 104* weather and In-N-Out burger. Here we are becoming part of the land of fruits and nuts....maybe we like food too much...or maybe we ARE nuts.

Our first stop was the Sequoia National Forest, and Kings Canyon National Park. As we climbed to mountain to reach our goal, the temperature rose from a mere 90* to a blazing 104*. Not cool (haha, get it, cool?) if you get carsick driving up a mountain.
Thankfully the park was cool and shaded, where the temp sat at a comfortable 76*.

Pretty, but deadly. We almost melted.
We are here! Yay! Hope they give out ice cream or personal fans!

Seeing as we live in a tree-house...or rather a house made of trees...or a log home... Whatever you call it, we like trees. We like them in the forest, as our floor, and even as part of our dinner. Haha, just kidding.
Dj was SO excited to see the Sequoia trees!

Dad was very confused as to why someone wrote his name on the inside of a tree.

Don't blink (like mom), you might miss a great view of some tree huggers!

Perfect, we need a little-boy-holder for the house.

A great sunset before making camp!
We did not book to camp in either of the parks, and they were very full. Thankfully, there is some beautiful forestry land where we could park for free.
A early morning stroll up the mountain.

You could see smoke for miles... only YOU can prevent wildfires!

Next morning we went and saw General Sherman, which is a very large tree that is 30 feet in diameter!
